Hong Kong Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics
Founded in 1996, HKSTAM promotes scholarship in mechanics and its applications, and supports collaboration within Hong Kong as well as links with the wider international mechanics community through the annual conference, distinguished seminars, joint symposia, and the circulation of society reports and updates.
HKSTAM serves a broad mechanics community, including work in:
- solid mechanics
- fluid mechanics
- dynamics and vibration
- continuum mechanics
- computational and analytical methods
- materials, structures, and related engineering applications

Membership
HKSTAM welcomes researchers, engineers, and students whose work relates to theoretical or applied mechanics.
Categories of individual membership
- Member — Qualified researchers and professionals working in the general fields of solid and fluid mechanics.
- Student Member — Bona fide research students working in related fields.
To join as either Member or Student Member, you should seek nomination from two Members of the Society. The Secretary may be contacted for an updated list of current Members of the Society.
